I Blame CoCo is in a black and white creating a serious mood within the shot which can show that her music is to be taken seriously and giving a sense of rebellion and its not like anyone else. Also the close up shot has high impact showing her a strong character yet because she's neither on the left or middle it may create a tone of mystery. Her eye line is in the top thirds and she also her facial features look quite angry which can reflect her music and personality as dominating and powerful. However as her hair is messy and unstructured is suggests independence and going against mainstream music. as her clothing is contrasting against each other it may suggest that her music may not apply to all tastes and can cover darker subjects maybe about break-ups and upsetting events.
How this will influence my ideas
When bringing together a group of models I will have to specifically compose the shot to fit in the music genre they will be trying to portray. The main artist will either have to be more forward than the others or have a higher eye line than the rest of the band.A slight low angle will be handy in creating an inspirational image for a solo artist or band. I will use costumes that are simplistic and effective that create a sense of dominance in 'darker' genres such as leather jackets and structured shirts however in more acoustic genres I will use costumes that give a sense of freedom.
